Chai Janta Party ("we", "us", "our") is an independent civic discussion platform. We are not affiliated with any political party or government body. Our platform is operated for the purpose of enabling Indian citizens to discuss public issues, vote on proposals, and sign petitions.
2. Information We Collect
We collect: (a) Account information — your name, email address, and state/city when you register. (b) Profile information — any additional information you choose to add to your public profile. (c) Content — discussions, comments, votes, and petition signatures you create on the platform. (d) Usage data — pages visited, features used, and device information for analytics purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: operate and improve the platform; display your public contributions; send you notifications about activity on your posts (you can opt out); prevent abuse and enforce our Community Rules; and comply with applicable Indian law.
4. What We Do Not Do
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with political parties or electoral campaigns. We do not use your data for targeted advertising. We do not build profiles for commercial purposes.
5. Data Storage
Your data is stored securely using Supabase (PostgreSQL) with row-level security. We take reasonable technical precautions to protect your information from unauthorised access.
6. Your Rights
You may request a copy of your data, request deletion of your account and associated data, or correct any inaccurate information by contacting us. Account deletion removes your personally identifiable information but public content (discussions, comments) may remain in anonymised form.
7. Cookies
We use session cookies for authentication and minimal analytics cookies to understand platform usage. We do not use tracking cookies for advertising.
